Frequently
Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor's referral to start?
No! Per South Carolina State Law, a patient may see a physical therapist via “direct access” without a physician referral on file for up to 30 days. Once a patient has been seen for 30 days, we will make sure that everything is in compliance with state and federal requirements. However, this does not mean that you have to schedule an appointment to see a physician. This is often an easy phone call to your primary care physician for them to send the information we need to continue if necessary.
How long does a session typically last?
Each individual session is typically 45 - 60 minutes. Your therapist will make a recommendation at your initial consultation on how many session will be needed for optimal recovery.
What conditions can physical therapy help with?
Physical therapy (PT) helps with a vast range of issues—from common back pain and sports injuries to recovery from surgery and managing complex neurological conditions (like Parkinson's). PT's primary goal is to reduce pain, restore movement, and improve function through customized treatment.
